HazMat ONE

In the event of a hazardous materials or weapons of mass destruction incident occurring in the Purchase Area, the area one hazardous materials response team known as HazMat 1 is prepared to respond. HazMat 1 is an all volunteer team of approximately 90 members. The makeup of the team is a cross section of the community including Doctors, Nurses, Chemists, Firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians, Hazardous Waste Specialists and Emergency Services Personnel.

Our next meeting will be next Monday evening at 7:00 pm at Reidland Fire Station #2 at 6217 Benton Rd, Paducah

HazMat One will be participating in an exercise in Murray on Saturday, February 4^th with Murray FD and the National Guard. More details to come!

At our meeting on Jan 12th we discussed the transition from the old West McCracken HazMat Team to our new HazMat One Regional Response Team. We are planning on moving the final stuff from the old HazMat truck in W. McCracken FD to our new truck in the next couple weeks. At that time, HazMat One will be available for calls.
